About Forest School

Forest School is an inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.

Forest School is a specialised learning approach that sits within and compliments the wider context of outdoor and woodland education.

Plas Derw Trust

Previously Flintshire Forest School, we have been delivering Forest School projects throughout North Wales for over 10  years and  have worked with all High Schools and many Primary Schools in Flintshire, as well as some in neighbouring counties.

Additional to our Forest School programmes we are sometimes able to secure funding to run other outdoor and environmental education projects such as Pollinator Protectors.

Commencing September 2017 we are offering 8 schools in areas of deprivation a programme of family learning sessions. Contact us to register your interest.

We also offer visits to schools and community groups, see our brochure on the schools page

We are members of the Forest School association, the Forest Education Network and the Impio the North East Wales OLW (Outdoor Learning Wales ) cluster group.
