Kids Club in the Woods is our holiday club based on the Forest School Ethos. Our clubs take place in local woodlands in dedicated camps with defined boundaries. Sessions take place all year round in all weathers: rain, shine or snow (however sessions may be cancelled in high winds) and are delivered by experienced qualified leaders who have full DBS checks and first aid.
Holiday Clubs in the Woods gives children the opportunity for free play in a safe, stimulating environment, using natural resources to stimulate their imagination. Our leaders provide activities to focus the group but free play also forms part of the holiday club as we follow the Forest School ethos of sessions being participant led.
Our Northop site is now CSSIW registered. Childcare vouchers are only accepted for attendance at this site.
Please note: Booking online is the preferred option. Due the nature of our business we are not always in the office. Telephone and online bookings are both taken using the worldpay service which has the same level of security.
Imagination and adventure comes in many forms. We use the adventure course at our Chester lakes site to deliver a variety of themed Adventure Club session throughout the year.

My son’s favourite holiday club EVER!!!!!! Being outside enjoying freedom of play – doing things kids should be doing not on computers / in front of TV all day. I can’t praise them enough. Working full time I inevitably have used many different services / holiday clubs in the area – my son (age 11) and I both agree nothing compares to Plas Derw.
Mrs S customer since 2013
Although the initial reasons I chose Plas Derw were was for childcare, it has become far broader than that. Forest club has become the highlight of my son’s year, beating any holiday or time in school. Really. He absolutely loves it. Childcare is something you endure. Plas Derw is a childhood memory that my son will treasure for life. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to give him that.
