Plas Derw Trust was set up in 2005 to provide Outdoor and Environmental Education and we mainly do this through the provision of Forest School based projects. We have developed the Forest Schools ethos and it now underpins our successful holiday clubs (Kids Club in the Woods™), our specialist parties in the forest, school trips and team building days.
Plas Derw Trust has been delivering outdoor and environmental education projects for almost 15 years and the majority of our projects use the Forest School ethos, which is a learning style that utilises the natural environment to enhance learning and development. Whilst many organisations apply Forest School primarily to early years we have always championed Forest School For All by running sessions from toddlers through to adults.
Plas Derw’s subsidiary company PDT Training and Education is the sole provider of Forest School Training in North Wales. Training local school teachers and individuals from a variety of backgrounds to become Forest School Practitioners disseminates the Forest School ethos benefiting more children and young people in North Wales.
